Producer of A Hidden Life in town

Elisabeth Bentley (producer of A Hidden Life by Terrence Malik) and her husband were in town in Cannes with many projects and a busy schedule launching her new company Marginalia. We sat down at Better World Forum to discuss .

Elisabeth Bentley began working to bring the story of Franz Jagerstatter to the screen in 2006 and started collaborating directly with Franziska Jagerstatter, Franz Jagerstatter’s widow, in 2010.

Bentley’s previous films include BEAUTIFUL DARLING (2010) about Candy Darling, Warhol superstar and transgender pioneer, and NANKING (2008).

Bentley has been nominated for a WGA Awared and shortlisted for the Documentary Oscar. Her films have screened at the Berlinale, Sundance, MoMA and the Film Society of Lincoln Center.

In 2019 Bentley founded MARGINALIA to bring the visions of non-legacy filmmakers from the margins to the center.
