We hereby announce the following additions and changes to this year's Generation programme:

On the occasion of the screening of the documentary 2040, which celebrates its world premiere at Generation, the Berlinale is hosting a panel discussion with director Damon Gameau and experts from the fields of film, culture, science and politics. Together, they will debate the possibility and potential of sustainable responses to climate change, the single most important issue facing humanity.

What might a liveable future by the year 2040 actually look like? That is precisely the question award-winning Australian director Damon Gameau asks in his film 2040 (Generation Kplus), in which he bucks the wider dystopian trend to present an alternative, more positive vision for the future.

Determined to live life on her own terms – and at arm’s length from her overprotective mother – she stumbles across manga porn. Humorous and endearing director HIKARI depicts an unusual journey of self-discovery - in artistic, physical and familial terms.
