Lifetime Achievement Award

The ICFF Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an individual who has made an outstanding contribution, enriching Italian culture through motion pictures and television throughout their entire professional career. This year's winner is Claudio Bisio, one of the most popular and well-known Italian actors in Italy. His professional career is multifaceted, ranging from strong showman capabilities to great theatre performances, in addition to being an excellent writer.

In front of a sold out opening film audience at TIFF Bell Lightbox, actor and director Antonio Albanese accepted the ICFF 2018 Excellence Award for his work in Come un gatto in Tangenziale/Like a Cat on the Highway, as well as his acting and directing of Contromano/In the Wrong Direction.

The IC Savings Award recognizes the contribution of a film that has extremely important social and cultural elements shared by Italy and Canada. This awards goes to Road to the Lemon Grove , which brings together two cultures, two lands and two families. This Italian-Canadian production represents the best of Italian and Canadian cinema.

The talented Italian and Italian-Canadian crew from this year's Oscar winning film The Shape of Water were among the ICFF 2018 closing gala guests, being presented the prestigious ICFF 2018 Empire Community Award for the superb work in creating the Best Film at the 2018 Academy Awards. Talented Producer Miles Dale, Special Effects Director Dennis Bernardi, as well as Post-Production Director Nick Iannelli received the award for a film that was truly a masterpiece, down to the choreography by Roberto Campanella and the man behind the creation of the featured “creature” mask - Luca Nemolato, by which both took home ICFF trophies.
