Moving to New York City from a small town of Louisiana in the early 80's, Kevyn Aucoin found acceptance as a gay man and success in the fashion world. Developing an often overlooked profession into an influential art form, Aucoin became the go-to makeup artist for - and fast friends with - supermodels and celebrities until his tragic death at the age of 40. Director Tiffany Bartok offers an intimante look at a legendary figure who made people beautiful.
ABOUT KEVYN AUCOIN Discovered by Vogue in the early 1980's, Kevyn Aucoin soon began a fruitful collaboration with Revlon, reaching its pit when he became the Creative Director of their new line of cosmetics "The Nakeds" in 1983. He then worked with Shiseido, until he decided to launch his own make-up brand, Kevyn Aucoin Beauty, in 2001. Considered as the inventor of revolutionary technics such as the well-known contouring, and a true make-up genius, Aucoin was the favorite make-up artists of the most emblematic supermodels of the 1980's and 1990's, as well as working with celebrities like Cher, Janet Jackson, Liza Minelli, Tina Turner, among others.
With the participation of Isabella Rossellini, Kate Moss, Cher, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, Brooke Shields, Linda Evangelista, etc.
