Screening March 1st - Fantasporto
Films from three continents (Philippines, Hungary, Portugal, Mexico and a Estonian / Netherlands / Poland co-production) are among the alternatives that the program of the 38th Fantasporto - Porto International Film Festival offers today in the Rivoli Grand Auditorium, two candidates in the Official Cinema section (CF), another two in the Director's Week (SR) and one in the Panorama & Première section.

The Grand Auditorium opens with Prime Cruz's Philippine film "The Woman in Unit23B", a fantastic movie production about a woman living alone in a city and meeting a man who also feels rejected.
Jewel is a mysterious woman who lives alone in the city. Until he meets Nico, a guy who suffers a dislike of love and who also finds himself rejected as she. But its secret is not common. From Prime Cruz, winner of the best Filipino Short Film Prize of 2016.

Based on the homonymous novel by Virgílio Ferreira (1959), with interpretations by Jaime Freitas and Victória Guerra, this is the latest film by Fernando Vendrell, already honored at Fantasporto and awarded for his film "Fintar o Destino" (1998).

Rainer Sarnet's "November" is a co-production between Estonia, Holland and Poland which represented Estonia at the Oscars and is based on a traditional Estonian tale in which during the long Baltic winter the villagers do everything to survive, steal each other, rob the Germanic feudal lords who rule them and steal even the church, the spirits, the Devil and even Christ ...
