Berlinale Goes Kiez: The Programme
From February 17 to 23, Berlinale Goes Kiez is screening a selection of films from the Festival at cinemas across the city. A total of 16 features and five short films from eight sections and the NATIVe special presentation will be shown. Several film teams have already announced that they will present their works in person and answer the audiences’ questions following the screenings. Anne Lakeberg, head of City Kino Wedding, will moderate these discussions on behalf of the Berlinale.
Fostering lively exchanges between filmmakers and audiences is part of the basic concept of Berlinale Goes Kiez. In 2018, it will also be the explicit focus of a discussion organised by Berlinale Talents at Tilsiter Lichtspiele. During “How to Talk to Strangers: Q&A Reloaded”, “Talents Market Studio” participants, filmmakers, and visitors will discuss different forms of audience participation.
A second discussion will round off the Berlinale Goes Kiez programme for the public. Under the title “Indigenous Life and Global Climate Change”, NATIVe invites people to discuss the consequences of global warming at Kino Casablanca.
Admission is free for both discussions. Tickets for regular screenings are available from February 12 at all Berlinale ticket outlets, online, and at the respective neighbourhood cinemas.
