Maurice Haeems - The director's statement

Director Biography

Maurice has a Bachelor’s degree from the VJTI School of Engineering of the University of Mumbai and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He has enjoyed successful careers in mechanical/fluid engineering, investment banking, and software entrepreneurship.

Maurice has studied Filmmaking, Screenwriting and the Entertainment Business at the New York Film Academy (NYFA) and at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Extension.

Chimera is Maurice’s first feature film.

While our story pushes the central character down some very dark paths, we still wanted the audience to see that despite his many flaws, Quint is always driven by a utopian vision and noble intentions,” says director Maurice Haeems.

“This film asks difficult philosophical questions like ‘How far would you go to save the ones you love?’ and ‘Without your family, would you still want to live forever?’,” says producer Jay Sitaram.
