The Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival announces its program

NIFFF 2017: ANNOUNCING THE OFFICIAL PROGRAMME
The Neuchâtel International Fantastic Film Festival (30 June – 8 July 2017) unveils the official selection for its 17th edition. The diverse programme offers an overview of the global trends in fantasy films. This year, Japan will be given the spotlight, first with the attendance of Miike Takashi - who will be presenting the world premiere of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable - but also with our tribute to the late master Suzuki Seijun, whose works will be celebrated through a retrospective composed of 10 beautiful, provocative films. As a springboard for a new generation of Swiss filmmakers, the NIFFF is also looking forward to showcasing the best of our national cinema. Finally, one should not forget to mention the enduring success of the NIFFF EXTENDED, a series of events which posit that the fantasy genre is a cradle for multidisciplinary reflection and innovation.

The NIFFF’s 17th edition in numbers
With a total budget of CHF 2,055,000, the NIFFF 2017 will last for 9 days, show films in 5 locations including an open air area, for a combined capacity of 2,140 seats. 94 feature films and 59 short films from 43 different countries will be shown, for a total of 151 screenings. Among them are 10 world premieres, 6 international premieres, 3 European premieres and 54 Swiss premieres. 75 conferences and public meetings are also programmed.
