The film takes place in 17th Century and stars Andrew Garfield and Adam Driver as two Portuguese missionaries who travel to Japan to search for their mentor (Liam Neeson) and minister to Christian's who have been outlawed. Scorsese has been developing Silence since 1990 and is a significant passion project for the director. One things for certain - it looks epic.
