Once safely confined within Swiss borders, it has become an exceptional transnational film festival simultaneously taking place in 8 cities on five continents worldwide, including three main events: shnit PLAYGROUNDS, shnit CINEMAS and shnit FINALE. In its twelve years of existence, shnit has become a major international festival that reinvents itself in ever new forms. Award winners are determined by international JURY and PLAYGROUND & CINEMAS audiencs worldwide. The shnit OPEN competition attracts short filmmakers from around the globe.
