Walking the Red Carpet

After a solid twenty minutes of begging for tickets to Inside Out in front of the Palais today, a friendly woman gave me her tickets only after I swore that I would attend the event. In the Grand Théâtre Lumière every seat must be filled, so ticket holders who do not want to attend must give away their tickets and cannot sell them.

When you have a ticket to one of the evening screenings, you must look nice, and it is better to arrive early in order to secure a good seat. Security directs you to a line depending on which type of ticket you have and you wait for your turn to walk the red carpet.

Although my time on the red carpet was brief, it was exciting and fun. Everybody is around taking photos and selfies (despite being prohibited) and everybody is dressed up and looking good. The entrance to the theater is beautiful and really makes one feel as if they are a celebrity. The theater itself is huge, and there’s really something quite special about watching a film with the director and the actors and watching it with you.
