In the hazy aftermath of an unimaginable loss, Sarah (Olivia Wilde) and Phil (Luke Wilson) come unhinged, recklessly ignoring the repercussions. Phil starts to lose sight of his morals as Sarah puts herself in increasingly dangerous situations, falling deeper into her own fever dream.

Being Evel (NEW TITLE)

 

The film enjoyed a hugely successful premiere in Sundance. The Hollywood Reporter wrote of it "The Bottom Line: Doc on showman cyclist Evel Knieel soars" and IndieWire described it as "rambunctious and entertaining".

Being Evel tells not just the incredible story behind the myth of 1970s American daredevil icon and pioneer for today's Extreme Sports scene Robert "Evel" Knievel, but also the previously untold and very much darker tale of the man behind the flamboyant cape; a one-time outlaw whose wildly dangerous career spanned 75 ramp-to-ramp motorbike jumps and saw him break every bone in his body.

For The Hollywood Reprter "The film turns a hilarious, sometimes-bittersweet lens on ambition and innocence, and the fraught terrain of the father-daughter relationship". The Playlist calls it a film "with big rewards, the kind worth crooning about".
