Catch 14 New Films Through Sundance Institute's #ArtistServices Program
Fourteen Independent Films Made Digital Debut Today during Sundance on iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and VUDU
Films Include Sundance Film Festival and Institute Titles and Others from Austin Film Society, Cinereach, IFP and the San Francisco Film Society
Sundance Institute has announced a new collection of fourteen independent films that make their digital debut today, January 21, 2015 on a variety of platforms and storefronts, via the Institute’s #ArtistServices program. Launched in 2011, Sundance Institute’s #ArtistServices is designed to bring films associated with the Sundance Film Festival & Institute, in addition to select non-profit film organizations in a coalition created by #ArtistServices, direct from artists to consumers in partnership with key online distribution platforms.
Highlights from the collection include Above All Else, a documentary following a group of landowners and activists in East Texas who tried to stop construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline; Charlie Victor Romeo, a performance documentary derived entirely from “Black Box” transcripts from six real life airline emergencies; American Revolutionary, the inspiring story of 99-year-old activist and philosopher Grace Lee Boggs; The Foxy Merkins: A Lesbian Hooker Comedy, which follows the exploits of a rookie lesbian hooker as she learns from her more experienced mentor; Evolution of a Criminal, the story of filmmaker Darius Clark Monroe, who returns home ten years after robbing a bank to examine how his actions affected the lives of family, friends and victims; and the remastered re-release of David Riker’s groundbreaking La Ciudad.
