EFA Weekend in Riga december 13, 2014

In the middle of December more than 1,000 European filmmakers, EFA Members, guests, nominees and winners came from all directions to Riga, European Capital of Culture 2014, to celebrate the 27th European Film Awards.

The weekend started with a press conference at the opera, interviews at the Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija and the Radisson Blu Hotel Elizabete and a Film Gala  at the Cinema Splendid Palace in honour of Agnès Varda, recipient of this year's EFA Lifetime Achievement Award.

On Friday evening, EFA Members and the international press gathered at the Small Guild where the Creative Europe Desk Latvia & Riga 2014 were the hosts of a special welcome reception.

The Nominees' Celebration was held at Riga's famous Blackheads House where each nominee received a hand-written certificate.

After the EFA General Assembly on Saturday morning, EFA Members and guests had the chance to explore the Latvian capital on a variety of guided tours or to watch the nominated short films in special screenings a the Cinema Splendid Palace.
