Michel Hazanavicius Sells 'The Search' to Canada

According to Etan Vlessing of The Hollywood Reporter, Oscar winning director Michel Hazanavicious has sold the Canadian rights to his film The Search to indie distributors Remstar Films and Elevation Pictures, who previously had the Canadian release of Dallas Buyer's Club. 

"Following our great adventure with Dallas Buyer's Club, we want to keep on presenting quality films with unique stories that will captivate audiences," as told by Remstar's Pascale Hebert and Tim Ringuette in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter. 

The film, a remake of the 1948 film of the same name,is a contemporary war drama and stars the director's wife, Berenice Bejo and Annette Bening. This is Hazanavicius' follow up to the Oscar Winning The Artist, for which he won the Oscar for Best DIrector and Best Picture. 

The film is set to debut in competition at Cannes on May 21.
