Nordic Factory at Directors Fortnight

Our 8 directors met in Helsinki to develop their film’s projects. Away from competition, it is listening, caring and support that were the watchwords of this workshop. Thus, more than a couple, is a cohesive group that was formed.

8 directors : 4 films

4 short films of 15 minutes each were co-directed by 4 tandems of young directors :

• The Girl and the Dogs de/by Selma Vilhunen & Guillaume Mainguet
• Void de/by Milad Alami & Aygul Bakanova
• Listen de/by Hamy Ramezan & Rungano Nyoni
• Sundays de/by Kresten Kusk & Natalia Garagiola

Strict rules were imposed on directors to ensure that projects be made with the same constraints.

After Helsinki, let’s head to Copenhaguen

Our directors met again in Copenhaguen to shoot their films : in a botanic garden, indoors, on a beach or on a ferry... The city was their playground.

Once the films were shot, it was time for derush and editing in a professional studio where each team was assigned a room and an editor.

Last step... Cannes

The world premiere screening of these films will be held on Thursday, May 15 at 1pm, at the Théâtre Croisette and will be followed by a Q&A with the directors.
