Opening ceremony Amazonas snapshots
Filmfestivals.com Bruno Chatelin was in Mamaus to report on Amazonas 10th edition.
Screenings and official functions take place in the stunning Teatro Amazonas, opera house built in 1896.
The festival receives much respect from the film community, with a great international selection. Viewers almost forget the poor quality of the sitting (century old chairs cannot beat multiplex chairs standards) and enjoy the moment in the amazing decor.
My personal fantasy watch in that theatre Fitzcarraldo the 1982 West German film written and directed by Werner Herzog and starring Klaus Kinski as the title character.
