Celebrity guests, festival attendees, cast, and crew attended the premiere. A special Q&A session immediately followed with actress Mariel Hemingway, Bobby Williams, director Kopple, and crew members.

RUNNING FROM CRAZY is a heroic and triumphant documentary that captures a family heritage and history of mental illness, substance abuse, and incest through the life of actress Mariel Hemingway, the granddaughter of legendary novelist Ernest Hemingway (1899-1961). The family’s raw archival footage is compassionate and profound revealing a story of hope and transformation. Director Kopple remarkably takes you on a journey of the human spirit from out of the darkness and into the light, a path to real inner freedom, healing, and peace.
