Hi Carlos what is your role at the Hollywood Film Awards®

Tell us about your team and your partners

Our team is spearheaded by our Executive Director, Jon Fitzgerald. Jon is a co-founder and former executive director of Slamdance, AFI Fest, Santa Barbara and Abu Dhabi film festivals among others. In addition, in 2012 he launched CineCause, a philanthropic platform, connecting socially relevant films to related causes.



Our Advisory Team is comprised of a cross section of established Hollywood professionals. Our partners include both consumer and industry entities. Our staff is a great group of festival lovers that have worked with us for the last 8 years. We have a very knowledgeable and dynamic team that keeps delivering every year.

 

What is the role of the Awards

The Hollywood Film Awards® were created to honor excellence in the art of filmmaking.

What position does it have in the Oscar build up (race?)

We are the first AWARDS SHOW of the season. We launch the awards season.

What makes you most proud of with the Awards

The fact that we are able to have in the same room both emerging filmmakers and major Hollywood Stars and executives.

In addition, in the last 10 years, a total of 96 Oscar nominations and 34 Oscars were given to films showcased and/or to the honorees of the Hollywood Film Awards.
