Call for entry AFFR 2013

Filmmakers and producers are kindly invited to send in their film for the AFFR 2013 filmfestival before July 1, 2013. Entry is free.

We are looking for new, serious, funny, unique, classic, experimental, lighthearted or personal films about the built environment: cities, landscape and architecture. Documentaries or feature films that have never been screened on regular TV or in cinema, artistic short films or astonishing animations: films about that one particular city, or that specific building, a personal view on that astonishing architect or inspiring urban story, a comparitive study between cities, a geeky urban horror story, we love it all.

The overall theme this year is 'Time Machine'. It is a concept that was often used in times of transformation, both film and architecture. The utopian city and the science fiction film are laboratories for a way out of uncertainties. It deals with space travel in time or timelines in spaces. The past provides a benchmark for the present, it sketches a context for a possible future. That future is an open exploration.

Our festival is visited by approximately 5000 international visitors in 4 days in Rotterdam and on satellite locations in Groningen and Heerlen. We will screen 100 films - short plus feature - bundled in a total of 60 screenings. This year we have both a public and a professional (jury) award for the best film about city culture or architecture. The main language of the festival is English (-ish).

The call will be closed on July 1, 2013. The entry form is online here.
