Ulla Bergström appointed as the new Executive Director of DocPoint

Ms. Ulla Bergström will be taking on the responsibilities of Executive Director in DocPoint –  Helsinki Documentary Film Festival on August 1st 2012.

Before DocPoint Bergström (born 1970) has worked at Turku European Capital of Culture 2011 Programme team as a Production Coordinator. In movie industry Bergström has been working as an animation director, animator and character designer at Bergani Films Ltd, YLE and Per Holst AB. She has also lectured about media production and animation expression.

As an Executive Director Bergström would like to develop the festival as a meeting point for documentary film and a knowledgeable audience.

“Documentary film is an eagle-eyed and well-thought perspective to today’s topics. I believe there is a documentary film for every one of us, a film which shakes, questions and even changes the way we see the world. The festival should create possibilities for these encounters”, Bergström says.

The 12th edition of DocPoint – Helsinki Documentary Film Festival will take place in Helsinki, Finland on January 22nd to 27th 2013.
