The 3rd Annual Hola Mexico Film Festival goes live

The 3rd Annual Hola Mexico Film Festival will be taking place on May 19 – 25, 2011 at a new venue, The Montalban Theatre in Hollywood, Which over the course of the festival will be transformed into Temple of Mexican cinema. This year the festival has made great changes to give you a better experience.
This 2011, Hola Mexico Film Festival is proud to present the US Premiere of the film Acorazado during opening night. A film by Alvaro Curel, Acorazado follows Silverio a Mexican taxi driver, who is convinced that it’s completely inefficient to cross the border to become one of millions of Mexican fugitives, Silverio transforms his old abandoned taxi into a raft to sails to Miami in search of the American Dream.
Mexico, A Place Like The Movies reveals how this year’s festival will paint Mexico’s reality through the eyes of our filmmakers. The festival handpicked 12 of the finest Mexican films produced in the recent months.
Also for the first time, The Hola Mexico Film Festival is partnering up 12 community non-profit organizations in Los Angeles. The festival will donate tickets to each organization, providing a new audience exposure to Mexican cinema and enriching the community through film.
The 2011 Hola Mexico Film Festival experience will go beyond the movies and into the land of beverages and Mexican food. With the support of Milagro Tequila and Guelaguetza Restaurant, film festival attendees may participate in tequila tasting and also purchase authentic food from Oaxaca.
