Netherlands Production Platform Selection 2009
The Holland Film Meeting, the international arm of the Netherlands Film Festival, announced the 21 projects selected for the 2009 Netherlands Production Platform (NPP). The aim of the NPP pitching forum is to facilitate co-production activity between the Netherlands and other countries, especially those with a similar production capacity. During the NPP the feature projects in development are presented to a select group of international professionals - financiers, distributors, sales agents and commissioning editors - who will assess the international appeal and consequently the market potential of the projects.
The selection committee chose eight projects from The Netherlands and thirteen projects from eleven other European countries. A particular feature of this year's selection is the extremely high calibre of production and filmmaking talent associated with each project.
"The personnel in Utrecht to present the Dutch projects will read like a who's who of what contemporary Dutch cinema has to offer," commented Head of the Holland Film Meeting Ellis Driessen. "While the European projects are represented by some of Europe's most prestigious and prolific production houses."
The Holland Film Meeting will run from 24 – 28 September.
