When you went to your film school in Illinois, did they expose the works of New York avant garde and nouvelle vague, and should young filmmakers be exposed to that?

"yes and yes, and so it should be, its essential to know where authors have gone before entering this industry."

Funny enough I had applied to National Film School in Łódź, they were not able to give me an answer as to when i could enter, so I applied to various film schools in teh USA and got accepted in Illinois, with a scholarship"...
