funding from korean film commission

Good news for film-makers in need of funding.Tae Shik Kim, the Director of Korea Tourism Organization told yours truly following a presentationabout his country  to the TAAI Associations in Western India that KTO and the Korean Film Commission are offering subsidies to the tune of USD 200,000 to film-makers to shoot in Korea.

"It's not much" he said (maybe so, to film-makers from the West, but to Indians, it's a lot. Just do yr math & multiply one USD by 40-50Rs)

It's a lot, no?

Korea has two co-production treaties with France & New Zealand where director Sngmoo Lee filmed The Warrior's Way ( slated to  open in India this Friday, Dec 10) A  visual stunner combining western fantasy actioner genres, the movie stars South Korea's Jang Dong-gun with Geoffrey Rush, Kate Bosworth and Danny Huston.
