TIFFCOM, TIFF's Market Arm Opens For Business

By Liza Foreman TIFFCOM 2010 (October 25-28), the Contents Business Marketaffiliated with TIFF, opens today after a set-up day yesterday in the toweringskyscraper in the middle of Tokyo which is home to the annual market. TIFFCOM2010has registered a record-breaking number of exhibitors, participating countriesand pre- registration, putting it on track to make  Tokyo  a mainhub for the content business in Asia.The numberof exhibitors this year is 222, up 4 percentage points from last year.Exhibitors come from 21 countries and regions (3 countries and regions morecompared with 2009).The topthree overseas countries with most number of exhibitors aere South Korea (34companies), China (29 companies) and Thailand (11 companies). 43 new exhibitorsfrom abroad and 14 new exhibitors from Japan will attend in 2010. Denmark, Iran and Singapore join TIFFCOM as exhibitors forthe first time andthere will be sixpavilions from China, South Korea, Malaysia, Philippine, Taiwan and ThailandPre-registration has beenreceived from 53 countries and regions this year, up from 47 last year.
