FIPADOC 2022 coming soon in Biarritz with safety measures

FIPADOC are firmly convinced that the experience of film in cinema is about conviviality and sharing; as such, we are delighted by the prospect of welcoming back festivalgoers and special guests in person to the festival to enjoy films in venues around Biarritz.

And yet, our thoughts also go out to the organisers of other cultural events, to people working in the performing arts, and the film and audiovisual industries, both in France and abroad, whose projects have been deprived of their audiences in the current health context.

In these days marked by incertitude, and in the wake of the French government’s announcement, we at FIPADOC would like to clarify certain points about the organisation of the upcoming 2022 festival.

All festival and Industry Days events will be held in adherence to the current directives protecting the health and safety of participants, for the entire duration of the festival on-site. These include:

  • respecting capacity limits at all venues;
  • requiring health and vaccination passes for entry;
  • requiring masks to be worn in theatres and during all events;
  • no eating or drinking will be permitted during events and meetings;
  • participants in events, including cocktail receptions and meals, must remain seated.

In addition to enforcing current government regulations, the festival requests that all special guests and festivalgoers exercise caution, and encourages them to be vigilant in their respect of social distancing and barrier gestures.

The Industry Days programme will be fully maintained.

We are delighted to be able to welcome guests in-person for the round tables, meet-ups, and conferences scheduled as part of this professional event.

For events held in English, we will also welcome a small number of international guests remotely via a specific accreditation to offer a solution for participants who cannot travel to France.

Accreditations are available here. In the case that the festival is cancelled or postponed, a full refund will be provided for all sums outlaid.

SMART will welcome visitors free-of-charge, with increased attention to disinfection protocols for the SMART area and all equipment used. Social distancing will be maintained between all persons present.

At FIPADOC CAMPUS, we believe that introducing documentary to the younger generation is of paramount importance, and we continue to adapt our initiatives to audiences from secondary school to university with a range of age-appropriate streams. We work alongside educational institutions to ensure that regulation health measures are strictly enforced at all times.

Online ticket sales are now open. All purchases will be fully refunded should the festival be cancelled or postponed.
