Since its creation in 1975, the Deauville American Film Festival has been both showcasing the diversity of American cinema, from major Hollywood productions to independent films, and continuously revealing new talent. It is organised every year by the Le Public Système Cinéma and the Centre International de Deauville, and presents over 100 films to audiences in three different sites: the Centre International de Deauville, the Deauville Lucien Barrière Casino, and the Deauville Le Morny Cinema. Deauville Talent Award

Comédienne de renom, entre blockbusters, séries, théâtre et films d’auteurs, Thandiwe Newton est aussi une femme engagée, productrice, activiste et philanthrope.

Elle se voit décerner un Emmy Award pour son interprétation dans la série WESTWORLD en 2018 et tourne sous la direction de cinéastes prestigieux comme Ron Howard (SOLO : A STAR WARS STORY), Xavier Dolan (MA VIE AVEC JOHN F. DONOVAN), Roland Emmerich (2012), Guy Ritchie (ROCKNROLLA), Oliver Stone (W. : L’IMPROBABLE PRESIDENT), Gabriele Muccino (À LA RECHERCHE DU BONHEUR), Paul Haggis (COLLISION – Grand Prix à Deauville en 2005), Jonathan Demme (LA VÉRITÉ SUR CHARLIE), John Woo (MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2) et James Ivory (JEFFERSON À PARIS)…

Thandiwe Newton fait partie de ces personnalités qui nourrissent l’industrie de leur passion et de leur talent. Elle recevra à ce titre cette année un Deauville Talent Award qui saluera l’étoffe d’une carrière exceptionnelle et d’une femme de caractère.

À cette occasion, elle présentera en première française le film GOD'S COUNTRY de Julian Higgins.
