Since its creation in 1975, the Deauville American Film Festival has been both showcasing the diversity of American cinema, from major Hollywood productions to independent films, and continuously revealing new talent. It is organised every year by the Le Public Système Cinéma and the Centre International de Deauville, and presents over 100 films to audiences in three different sites: the Centre International de Deauville, the Deauville Lucien Barrière Casino, and the Deauville Le Morny Cinema. Retour sur la cérémonie d'ouverture du festival de Deauville 2023

« L’Amérique n’a pas arrêté de se raconter à travers ses films, agit comme ses films, imite ses films ; et les films imitent l’Amérique, il y a une espèce d’évidence de l’art américain du cinéma » » a confié Arnaud Desplechin au micro de France Inter.

Il a foulé pour la première fois le tapis rouge de Deauville avec les membres de son jury : Pierre Deladonchamps, Léa Drucker, Yasmina Khadra, Alex Lutz, Marine Vacth, Jean Paul Civeyrac et Sophie Letourneur.

Pour l'ouverture de cette 48e édition, la comédienne Lucy Boynton a reçu le Prix du Nouvel Hollywood des mains d'Elodie Bouchez, la Présidente du Jury de la Révélation.

« J'aime mon travail au-delà des mots. C'est un privilège absolu que de travailler dans un métier fait d'empathie et de narration. Je suis donc très reconnaissante pour votre confiance et votre encouragement, et très fière d'être ici pour célébrer le cinéma avec vous tous. » a déclaré la comédienne.
