Dora

Director: Delia Antal.
'Romania 1996, its six years since communism regime has ended, the president and his wife have been executed, yet the people are still living deplorable lives. Passports are scarce, travel and the western lives seen in magazines and on TV no more than fantasy.' DORA is the dramatic story of a young girl from a village deep in the Romanian countryside who decides to escape. Smuggled in the back of a furniture van, Dora, a university graduate, travels 1900 km to London, where her life is about to change beyond belief, as she embarks on a life of crime.

Down and Across

Director: Brandon Boudreaux & Erick Dozier.
A middle-aged mail room clerk and crossword aficionado, Robert Cunningham, overhears a terrorist conspiracy in midtown Manhattan one afternoon. His desire to be good citizen drives him to obsession as he follows the believed terrorist throughout the city. Meanwhile a police detective attempts to discover who the mysterious person is that keeps calling the NYC Safeline and leaving vague messages about snipers and plans to shoot people. Did Robert really hear what he thought he did and if so can he stop it when no one will believe him

DOWN AND OUT IN CANNES

Director: KATHY HILL.

Shot in a week by a lone woman filmmaker but based on a year's research, this moving, funny Grey Gardens/Maysles Brothers/cinema verite style doc explores the life of Ian and Robin, two alcoholic ex-pats living in a squat next to millionaire yachts during the glamorous film festival.  Life mirrors art as the filmmaker accidentally becomes homeless during shooting and turns the camera on herself.

Drat

Director: Farzin Farzaneh.
Drat is a gothic tale of a woman living alone in a country house. Her solitary routine is disrupted when she suspects that some kind of animal is trying to invade her home. Her suspicion turns into obsession as she tries in vain to keep the creature out. These efforts, along with the woman's growing anguish, are the primary focus of film. The woman finally confronts the intruder in her basement; however, all is not well. The landscape surrounding her abode rustles and heaves restlessly, and the roots of a nearby tree threaten to crack the very foundations of the woman's house. This is the story of one person’s lonely attempts to hold on to the small haven that she has carved out of her environment, and to keep it secure against the outside forces of nature. To her chagrin, she finds that the natural environment does not always recognise her exclusive right to such comforts.

Drawn

Director: Dusan Babic.

A painter obsessed with an imaginary girl tries to find her face by drawing endless number of portraits. He finally succeeds and his drawing comes to life for a second. But on the other side of the wall is that same girl who has also drew his face and put it in a frame in her room. The two will never meet.

Dreamgirl

Director: Simon Foster.

Dreamgirl

Director: Simon Foster.
Jon talks to a woman over the internet and agrees to meet. But this will be no normal meeting as they are both lucid dreamers and able to control their dreams while they sleep. So Jon goes to sleep and sets off to meet her.

Dreaming The Night Away

Director: Pierre Jézéquel.
Richard wanders among the lower life of a decadent and neglected city. However, a sudden confrontation with an unpleasant reality will send him on an intense emotional ride, where betrayal and revenge are inescapably tied.

Droomkind

Director: Erik de Goederen.
A nine year old boy (Pepijn Borst) lives in a world which, seen through his eyes, is deeper and more mysterious than a superficial glimpse would suggest. Sometimes the most simple things in life contain sheer beauty and enchantment.
But the boy is lonely too, because he cannot share his experiences with others. Who sees what he sees? Who hears what he hears? And who dreams what he is dreaming?
