About the Director:

JOSÉ ENRIQUE MARCH – Director - Producer
Degree in Information Sciences, specializing in Image and Sound, his first years of their professional activities were devoted to journalism, both written and television and radio, covering as film critic highly cultured scholar and the most important Spanish film festivals. Jose Enrique March (Valencia, 1974) made his directorial debut in the feature film with the romantic drama LISTENING TO GABRIEL (2007). The dazzling visual talent, elegance and a fascinating narrative use of the soundtrack, hit the critics and the juries of national and international festivals, where he received numerous awards. Released in late 2007, the film was selected by a dozen festivals around the world (Uruguay, Australia, Italy, USA, France, Peru ...) and won the award for Best Director at the Tokyo - Skip City International Festival 2009 (Japan), Best Film in Corinth film festival 2009 (Greece), and also won the Best First Film in MADRID IMAGEN 2009. The styling of THE ARTIFICE, his second feature, is linked to a stimulating thematic complexity and seductive amenity. "The film speaks of art as fiction and how life interferes with this process of creation," said March. "From the beginning I insisted to the crew and actors on about how important was the formal apparatus, playing with lines, shapes, colors, geometry and, in short, all the sound and visual elements that appear in the movie" adds the director. For several years, Jose Enrique March devotes part of its activity with his production company, MARBEN MEDIA and as the professor of film and acting at the Actor's School of Valencia, in addition to numerous advertising campaigns.

Film synopsis:
What if a filmmaker's mind begins to lose? What if he does not distinguish between reality and fiction? All mirrors always have two sides... Quique's mind, a former film director failed, is lost. So, settle with him to help her sister Martha, an actress of limited success, and the nurse Amador. Thereafter, they both witness the decay of a creator where, as a cog missing pieces will be shutting down. Little by little, Quique likes and dislikes, their own ghosts and memories of the characters in his films, get hold of his sanity to integrate into their daily lives. Despite the care, the confusion of Quique accelerates and he happily gives himself to the fiction of a nearby tribute. Then, his whole life becomes a real movie, an Artifice...
