About the Director: 

Born in 1983, Nakajima is one of the young talented directors in Japanese film industry. He had made 10 short movies and one feature movie independently. Besides winning three awards in the 29th PIA film festival, his feature work “This world of ours” entered in Vancouver International Film Festival, International Film Festival Rotterdam, and won the Best Debut Feature in New York Asian Film Festival 2008. “RISE UP” is his first road show movie.

Film synopsis: 
Lui the girl lost her sight one year ago by a hit-and-run accident. Since then she lives in shock and refuses to go to rehabilitation facilities. One day Lui meets a wonderful boy, Wataru. Wataru is a high school boy who has great enthusiasm for paragliding. He is dreaming to take off in the ascending air current called “lion” which occurs rarely. Lui is haughty and insolent to Wataru and his friend at first. Little by little, she opens her mind to Wataru after becoming familiar to each other. Wataru helps Lui to get her live back with photo shooting. However, an ironic and cruelty fact is just waiting behind their back. The two young ones now have to face it by their own ways…
