About the Director: 

A filmmaker born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, with experience in documentaries, short films and music videos, passionate about telling remarkable stories and creating eye-catching images.
Having a great interest in films and TV since a young age, Maikel has taken roles in both post-production and production departments in several projects, including Editor, Colour Grader, Director of Photography, Director, Camera operator, Camera assistant, Gaffer and Production assistant.

He edited various TV programs by Producciones Triana for the Biography Channel, such as “La Leyenda de María Félix” and the Biography of Oscar Arias, which were broadcasted around Latin America. Additionally, he was Director of Photography for the short film “Los malos se sientan atrás”, winner of the public choice award in the VART 2008 short film festival and best fiction short film at the Altos Mirandinos Short Film Festival 2008 in Caracas, Venezuela. Among his latest’s projects is “Play It”, a short film that he wrote, directed, edited and colour graded.

He is currently based in London, UK, participating in various independent projects.

Graduated in Social Sciences, he began his transition into Cinematography in 2010, after working for four years in Post Production, shooting two short films that year, one of which was nominated Best Experimental Short in Pasadena, USA.<br /> In 2012 he went to London to specialise, completing a MSc programme in Cinematography and Post Production at University of Greenwich, as well as training as Steadicam Operator. With his background in Post Production, he has the ability to work liaising with the CGI department.<br /> Experienced in 16mm and 35mm film as well as digital formats, Gui Beloto tries to understand the needs of each project to cooperate with Directors and Producers choose the best format to shoot.<br /> Currently living between Brazil and United Kingdom, Gui Beloto also has experience in assisting camera and light departments.<br /> &nbsp;</p>

Film synopsis: 
<p>Billy is a shy young Barista with a peculiar affinity for dinosaurs. When a beautiful girl, Genny, enters the coffee shop he works at, Billy becomes infatuated. Upon seeing that Genny is possibly already involved with a man, Billy sits down for a domino match in the metaphorical game of life.
