About the Director: 

Michiel van Jaarsveld (1970) graduated from the Dutch Film Academy in 1992 as a writer/director/editor. After a start as a fiction film editor, he wrote and directed the television single play ‘Marrakech’ in 1996, which was nominated for a Golden Calf at The Netherlands Film Festival, and for the EBU Award Best TV script. In 2001 he directed his first feature ‘A Drift’, a coming of age drama. The film was selected for the festivals of San Sebastian, Toronto, and was awarded at some of the many other festivals. His short comedy ‘Tonino’ was nominated for a Golden Calf at The Netherlands Film Festival in 2002. In 2007 he directed the drama series ‘Stellenbosch’, shot in South Africa. It was nominated for a Golden Calf in the category TV Drama. In 2010 he directed the culinary telefilm ‘Köfte’, a pilot for a transmedial series ‘Restart’ (which was chosen as ‘most innovative new tv-program’) and the children’s short ‘Papa’s Tango’.

About the Producer: 
Marc Bary graduated at the Dutch Film & Television Academy in 1993 and post graduated at the Binger Film Lab. He was co-founder of the NFTVM/VERS, now the largest association for young filmmakers in the Netherlands and a member of the Dutch Producers Guild. He has been advisor for the Amsterdam Arts Fund and the Rotterdam Art & Culture Institution. He is a visiting lecturer at the Dutch Film Academy and is advisor of faaam, the film/tv-actors education programme of the Amsterdam Media College. In 2010 and in 2011 he was juror for the International Emmy Award selection committee for European TV drama.

Film synopsis: 
Hannah’s parents are divorced. Her father is from Argentina and her mother is Dutch. Hannah is a dreamer. She loves to dance and adores her father. For Hannah dancing and her father are two things that belong together. Her father Nano feels miserable in The Netherlands ever since he divorced Hannah’s mother. He is homesick and wants to go back to his family and friends in Buenos Aires. But leaving The Netherlands also means saying goodbye to his daughter. After the divorce of her parents Hannah’s mother started a relationship with a new man. He lives with them now. Hannah gets along with him, yet she misses her father a lot. By listening to her father’s tango music she can still dance with him in her mind.
