About the Director: 

Roy Dames (1953, The Netherlands) studied tropical agriculture. Since 1986 he has worked as a documentary producer and since 1992 he has worked as a producer/director. Since two years he mostly works as a director, his producer is Keydocs, Amsterdam. Roy Dames produced and made many documentaries on social issues from a human interest perspective. His films include 'I'am Mohammed' (nominated for Golden Calf during the Dutch Filmfestival 2005), 'Wrong Friends' (90' documentary, won 'Beeld en Geluid Award 2010', most important tv prize in Holland), 'Ruud and Ria, together upto death' (2002, about a former Dutch boxchampion), 'Hookers at the crossroads' (1999, a series about the lives of street walking prostitutes in Rotterdam).

Roy Dames produced many single documentaries and series in collaboration with most of the Dutch broadcasters, BBC, ORF, SDR, Fench/English, Austrian producers. Nowadays he mostly direct films, now and then if there is not enough budget and he wants to realize the film/series Roy Dames will produce it.

Film synopsis: 
An observational documentary about 5 Dutch youngsters from Moroccan origin in Rotterdam followed by the camera from 2003 upto 2011, during the increasing tension in Dutch society between moslim immigrants and the original Dutch population. This find it's peak in the killing of Theo van Gogh, filmmaker and journalist by a moslim fundamentalist. This film is taken from the perspective of the youngsters
