The cow eye of the camera sees and registers the images in a crude and mechanical way, without choosing between them or capturing the qualities that the perception of the spirit grants them. The true role of the filmmaker should be, by means of these various techniques, to adapt the entire life of the spirit to the screen. From this point of view the forms of the spirit are of two kinds: on the one hand those that can be rendered directly perceptible under a visual and acoustic appearance, on the other hand, those that cannot.

About the Director:
John Ledbetter appreciates both viewing and making pictures. Born in 1979, he grew up in a North Dallas suburb where he from the age of nine made animated shorts with a super 8mm camera purchased from a one-eyed salesman.
Making animations as a youngster instilled in him a one-man-film-crew sensibility. In the fall of 2000 John relocated to California to attend CalArts mastering in photography, but after 2 years, dropped out and moved to Hollywood to make something of himself.
Over the years John has worked many areas of production. John will replace one of his eyes with a camera just as soon as that technology is made available. John draws inspiration from gravity, LIGHT, atmosphere, challenges and their creative solutions.
In the future John will continue to make works that challenge routine interests.
About the Producer:
April Day was born on a June day in 1980, Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She began drawing & painting as a girl-kid and soon studied fine art from elementary school thru college at the University of Texas at Austin. In the early 90's John Ledbetter & April met and soon found they share a mutual arts aesthetic.
April is highly organized which led her to handle all aspects of production. Her moody paintings and spicy red beans & rice are prominently featured in D.O.G. To boot she was charged with blending blood, baking sugar glass, and assembling a torso. The mixed media artwork on dogofgodmovie.com, as well as various D.O.G. publicity materials are original works by April.
April currently resides in Hollywood with her two Springer Spaniels. She would love to paint and make movies abroad.
