About the Director:

Directors Rintu Thomas and Sushmit Ghosh are award-winning filmmakers based in New Delhi, India. They run an independent media company, Black Ticket Films, under which they have produced and directed documentaries, ad-films, multimedia projects and corporate films.
Documentaries produced under the Black Ticket Films banner have explored issues of gender and sexuality, HIV AIDS, human rights and climate change. These multiple award-winning films have been screened in film festivals across six continents and are also being used as advocacy and resource mobilization tools by governments, development sector organizations and educational institutions.
Recently, their film on climate change was selected from a global call of films to be screened sat the United Nations Climate Change Conference held in Cancún, Mexico. In their spare time, Rintu and Sushmit conduct film appreciation classes for young adults and also teach photography to underprivileged children.

Film director:
Sushmit Ghosh & Rintu Thomas
Producer:
Robin Raina
About the Producer:
Robin Raina is one of the few Business folks whose leadership in business circles and social philanthropy both is an example that is hard to follow. In spite of running a very successful business enterprise (the Ebix group of companies that trades on the NASDAQ under the ticker symbol EBIX) with a market capitalization of around $400 million world wide, he has dedicated his life to public service. He has today emerged as a rather complete human being who has excelled in every field that he has gone into, while still keeping a balance and pioneering the cause of charity.

Film synopsis:
DILLI is a moving collection of heartfelt interviews with Delhi slum dwellers. Its lens focuses on a group of dwellers, bringing to life the untold story of mass exodus of thousands who were bulldozed from their homes and transferred to a makeshift facade - Bawana without water, shelter or drainage, while the city was being beautified for Commonwealth Games 2010. DILLI - city of dreams - is a universal story of millions of underprivileged around the world. DILLI holds up a mirror not only to India, but to every nation around the world, whose poor live forgotten under bridges, children go hungry, and fathers work thousands of miles from their families to provide. DILLI brings awareness. And awareness is the first step towards action.
