Since its inception nearly two decades ago, Luxembourg audiovisual pioneer Paul Thiltges Distributions & PTD Studio has grown into one of the country's busiest and most prolific production and distribution companies.

Founded in 1993 by Paul Thiltges, the company has participated as producer, co-producer or sales agent for more than 60 productions in a wide range of genres including fiction films, documentaries and animated films and series.

PTD has achieved significant milestones over its nearly 20 years: the first European animated feature to be distributed in the U.S. by Disney/Miramax ("The Blue Arrow") ; a film selected by 35 festivals including Sundance, Toronto and Locarno ("Megacities", "Workingman's Death") ; and a 2-million box office success in France ("Kirikou and the Sorceress").

Now Paul Thiltges and his partner, David Grumbach, who joined the company in 2005, are embarking in a new phase in PTD's development, producing, as delegate producer, their first film projects with foreign directors and audience-drawing potential on a broad international scale. Paul Thiltges and David Grumbach are a natural pairing of skills and talents, particularly as the company launches a new stage of expansion.

Paul Thiltges now focuses on international distribution strategy, as well as documentary and animation projects.

David Grumbach, who joined the company in 2005, concentrates on development and live-action projects. Ultimately, his aim is to create a network of European co-producers that can introduce ever more audience-generating films to the market.

Together, they not only have arranged cross-border, co-production financing but are increasingly active as creative and line producers. Over the past years, their position in Europe's geographic heartland and Luxembourg's film financing advantages have helped them develop unique expertise in all phases of international film finance and production - hiring key crew members, script development, casting, shooting, post-production and marketing strategy.

Their editorial line has been simple and direct: They make films they believe in, across genres, styles and nationalities. As long as a film is captivating, they then transfer their passion and knowledge into it.

Film synopsis:
Welfare worker Hans-Peter Stalder possesses the secret code to happiness: a money-multiplying strategy which promises incredible wealth to its hand-picked investors and a subsequent life of leisure and luxury. There’s only one downside to his story: it’s entirely made up of lies and the only one who really benefits from it is Stalder himself. For thirteen years the notorious conman and womanizer fools his guileless victims and tricks the authorities, embezzling millions and taking women’s hearts by storm. But when a stupid mistake trips him up, the time has come for confession – big-time confession.
