Tricky Women 2014 CALL

Tricky Women is the first and only festival of animated film that is dedicated exclusively to animation by women filmmakers. Since 2001 it has been held in Vienna each March.

Tricky Women 2014 takes place in Vienna, March 12th -16th.

• The deadline for applications for the preliminary selection is October 18th, 2013. We offer online submissions for your films via shortfilmdepot.com

Tricky Women Award of the City of Vienna worth 4000 Euro

3-month scholarship to live and work at quartier21/MQ under the Artist-in-Residence Program

      Synchro Film & Video Material Prize worth 1,500 Euro

      Sawczynski-Award worth 1,000 Euro

     Sielecki Award worth 750 Euro (for an Austrian animation)

     Tricky Women Audience Award

         Awards and prize monies will go to the directresses of the films.

• The festival offers an international competition of animated short films realised by female artists (male co-directors are welcome) and finished after January 1st, 2012. Each filmmaker, producer or distributor may submit as many films as they like. Each film submitted must be accompanied by an entry form and sent on a separate DVD. No films entered in prior Tricky Women Festivals shall be admitted.

• Moreover, we welcome “Short Animated Documentaries” & “Animated Feature Films by Female Filmmakers” for our non-competitive sections; these films can also have been produced earlier than 2012.
