The Just A Minute Festival is an online event that challenges people to create a film, no
longer than 60 seconds, in any genre and on any topic and have their work viewed by a
worldwide audience. The Festival’s website www.JustAMinute.tv has been visited close
to two million times that have come from 124 countries. Starting June 1st, productions can
be uploaded to the festival’s website to be entered in this year’s program. The entry
period ends September 30th, plenty of time to create your masterpiece. Starting October
5th, accepted productions will be streamed at random and voting is encouraged with
weekly cash prizes. For every film voted on, you get a chance at a $20 cash prizes. The
more you vote, the better your chances.
The voting period ends December 1st and winning films can win cash and other valuable
prizes. This year, a new category has been added to the Festival – ‘JAM Local’ and many communities are having local contests. Make a film about a person, place of thing from your community and you could win a special prize package reserved for entries from your community.
Festival was created to inspire people to use the devices that they have to tell stories,
raise awareness, cause laughter or create art. The films can be made using any device or
be of any genre or style. The only requirement is that the film can be no longer than one
minute in total running time.
