Rencontres Audiovisuelles

Founded in 1998, Les Rencontres Audiovisuelles (RAV) is an association based in Lille (France), specialized in showcasing independent visual creations as well as digital arts and developing educational projects around images.

RAV notably organizes the Animation Festival (8th edition in March 2012) and the International Short Film Festival (12th edition in October 2012), in Lille, respectively attracting 15 000 and 10 000 people every year. Besides those two major yearly events, RAV is in charge of the weekly film selection of an independent audiovisual centre, which was founded in 2007, called L’Hybride. 

>> Fête de l'anim' :

Created in 2004 in Lille, the Fête de l’anim’ is an international event dedicated to any form of animation, building bridges between cinema (short and long movies), television (series), video games and digital arts.The event’s specialty relies on a mixing of screenings, conferences, master classes and networking meetings. Every year, the Fête de l’anim’ attracts more than 15 000 people in 3 days.

>> International Short Film Festival

Created in 2000, The International Short Film showcases audiovisual short creations, from animation, fiction to clip videos, documentaries and offers opportunities to meet guest professionals.

This festival constitutes the first event ever organized by Rencontres Audiovisuelles. It now shows more than a hundred films in competition, which are submitted to the vote of a jury, composed of international professionals.

In addition, according to the year’s topic, shorts films are selected and shown outside of the competition with the presence of directors, producers, etc. Other events such as “Visual Mix”, “Cinema/Concerts”, the Animation night as well as meetings and conferences, are also part and parcel of the festival.
