Oakville Festivals of Film and ArtsOakville Festivals of Film and Art is an organization committed to breathing new life into the community of Oakville by promoting cultural and artistic diversity using the cinematic arts. This festival fills a void in the town of Oakville, which boasts a diverse and thriving artistic and film community which until now, has not had a film festival to call its own. The inaugural festival will occur on Saturday, 21st June, 2014, with a full day of programming and events at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts (www.oakvillecentre.ca) beginning at twelve noon. Highlights include the world film festival premiere of the documentary, Sex, Fame, and Murder, which examines the quest for fame of alleged murderer Luka Magnotta, who is accused of killing and dismembering Chinese international student Jun Lin. The documentary will air on A&E networks later this year, and on Discovery: Investigation in the English Canadian market, and Canal D in the French market, as well as around the world. Oakville Festivals of Film and Arts is a new community cinema and arts festival that offers a fresh and new artistic vision to the town of Oakville, providing award-winning world and Canadian festival premieres that will appeal to dedicated cinephiles, as well as the Oakville film-going community. At the same time, its unique vision includes photography exhibits that will appeal to the burgeoning artistic community.
