About
MOMO Independent Film Festival is an international celebration of independent cinema held each October at the South Lyon Theater in South Lyon, Michigan. We champion powerful storytelling in all its forms — features, shorts, documentaries, experimental work and screenplays — regardless of budget, access or industry status.
Our selections are reviewed by an international jury of filmmakers, critics and film scholars. MOMO is independent and volunteer-run: the organizers take no income, and filmmakers who cannot afford the submission fee may submit free of charge.
2026 winners include Maman danse (Mom Dances) by Mégane Brügger — Best Short Film and Best Director — and Everyone Calls Me Mike by Guillaume Bonnier, honored with the festival directors' feature awards. Full list of winners: momofilmfestival.org/blog
