Los Angeles Screenplay CompetitionThe Los Angeles Screenplay Competition is proud to announce the 2011 season to find screenplays that can be produced and to identify screenwriting talent that can be developed into writers for today's filmmaking industry.
President Rafael Primorac has produced many commercial and art house films that with screenplays that he either developed or optioned from new writers giving them their first break into Hollywood films. All of his films have received worldwide distribution. Mr. Primorac is responsible for bringing "Game of Death" starring Wesley Snipes, "Giallo" starring Adrien Brody, and "Mysteria," starring Danny Glover, Billy Zane, and Martin Landau from script to screen. Mr. Primorac is always looking for new talented writers and he knows that everything starts with the script. He met Jim Agnew in a coffee shop in Los Angeles. Jim never had a script produced. He worked with Jim developing his first story "Giallo," until it was ultimately produced for $7 million USD by Primorac. It was Directed by the Horror Director Dario Argento and starring Adrien Brody and Emmanuelle Seigner. Not bad for a first time screenwriter. Next Mr. Primorac worked with Jim Agnew to develop his screenplay "Game of Death." The film was produced by Priorac for $12 million USD and stars Wesley Snipes. After that Primorac discovered the talent of short filmmaker at The New York International Independent Film and Video Festival. His new discovery was from Switzerland and had only done short films. His name is Lucius Kuert. Primorac produced his screenplay "Mysteria" which was since shot in Los Angeles starring Danny Glover, Michael Rooker, Billy Zane, and Martin Landau. Primorac is now looking for his next screenplays to produce. We are honored to have him as the President of The LA Screenplay Competition. |
