is pleased to announce the Call for Entries for “FootPrints in the
City,” our Women’s History Month Film Festival (WHMFF) 2012. Held in
collaboration with Rutgers University’s Program of Women and Gender
Studies’ 2012 symposium on “The City,” the festival will be held March 8
– 10, 2012 primarily at Rutgers University, Newark campus. The
festival will provide free community screenings of independent films
that depict activities that indelibly etch the urban experiences of
women into our consciousness, reminding us of our global influence,
triumphs and struggles. All films must be about women, and should be directed or co-directed by a woman.
WIM-N looks to
provides our community with innovative, culturally diverse,
inspirational films acknowledging the artistic vision of filmmakers from
all over the globe. Criteria for film selection includes a powerful
story line told in a unique way, as well as a dynamic viewpoint on
issues facing women. We are encourage submissions from up-and-coming
filmmakers.
We are looking for three feature length films and film shorts for this year’s festival. Deadlines
for submitting a film for consideration are October 8, 2011
(Earlybird), November 15, 2011 (Regular), and November 29, 2011 (Late).
Entry fees vary based on entry date and category.
