Doclisboa is a festival dedicated to documentary cinema, seeking to promote new forms of thinking, of viewing the world and communicating. The festival gives priority to films that have not yet been shown in Portugal both in the case of Portuguese as well as foreign films. The aim of the festival is to allow a more profound reflection upon contemporary issues and current affairs, thus stimulating new debates and new approaches of reality. Doclisboa also focuses on breaking new cinematic grounds and aims to celebrate the great diversity and vitality of this “cinema of reality”.
