To initiate a new reason for the creation of artistic production related to the problems and wealth of the Earth and presentation of it, to pioneer the foundation of a serious and independent platform for ecology in our country and reward all these efforts.
To provide documentary directors with new opportunities, artistic development and experience at international level, to emphasize the significance of ecology, to bring scientists and artists who are interested in the ecological problems of the island and the surrounding areas together in order to contribute to friendship and peace.
While a new ecological issue that threatens the future of the Earth emerges every single day, we invite you all to our beautiful island in order that we could establish a new promising platform that will enable the youth, the farmers, and the producers of the island and the surrounding area to be informed about the latest technological developments.

The permanent theme of BIFED – Bozcaada International Festival of Ecological Documentary is only Ecology:
We are dedicated to organize this festival in order that we could hand this planet down to our children in a good condition and also raise beautiful children who deserve this planet.
Living spaces, disabilities, gentrification, alternative energy, alternative solutions... You will be visiting a precious geography where people respect the local, the small, proper production, and the nature. Your presence and your films will enrich our small-scale producers, farmers, fishermen, viticulturists, olive producers, teachers, students, youth; all of us.
Together we will contribute to the solutions to the threats caused by global warming, polluted and exhausted seas, decreasing forests, worsening working conditions of workers and farmers, shrinking arable land, decreasing drinking water supplies; your films will be inspirational for us.
