Hi, everyone! My name is Inessa and I came from Russia to Paris especially for the ÉCU Film Festival 2011, mostly because I was interested to learn more about the filmmaking process! It was my first experience at a film festival and I was happy to become part of the team. Before the event Kadi helped me to become part of the staff by giving me some interesting jobs such as drawing up databases about cinematography in Russia, Ukraine, Georgia and Poland.

After that I came to Paris in April…it was great! I got acquainted with so many interesting people and the most incredible thing was the atmosphere during the festival. There were other volunteers from all over the world and I had a chance to gain a great international experience and do some networking. It was also possible to speak to the directors and actors and discuss the films with them after the show. And what amazing after-parties we had, guys!!! Everyone was mingling in a relaxed atmosphere, dancing, chatting… In addition, I was so proud to walk in every morning before the festival with my staff badge hanging around my neck…=)

So, finally I just want to say THANK YOU all for these amazing days in Paris. Every time I call to my mind France it will be always associated with ÉCU and cinematography. What’s more, now I understand that I want to be involved in this amazing world of film making in the future, by getting any interesting job in the industry! Hope to see you next year.

“Je m’appelle Inessa, je suis venue de Russie à l’occasion du festival ÉCU 2011 afin d’en savoir plus sur la réalisation cinématographique. Ce fut une première expérience édifiante et j’ai été très heureuse de faire partie de l’équipe. En préparation de l’évènement, la charmante Kadi m’a aidée à intégrer l’équipe en me confiant des taches intéressantes (par exemple, la création de bases de données sur le cinéma en Russie, en Ukraine, en Georgie et en Pologne).

Je suis arrivée à Paris par la suite, au mois d’avril et c’était super! L’ambiance du festival était fantastique. J’ai pu rencontrer des bénévoles venus du monde entier, profiter d’une expérience internationale formidable unique et élargir mon réseau de contacts. C’était aussi une occasion unique de parler aux réalisateurs et aux acteurs après les projections. Et quelles soirées magnifiques a t’on vécues ensemble ! Tout le monde était là, à danser et discuter… Je n’aurais pu imaginer d’ambiance plus festive ! J’étais si fière d’arriver, chaque matin, en portant mon badge du membre d’équipe autour du cou !

C’est pourquoi je souhaiterais aujourd’hui adresser un grand MERCI à vous tous pour ces instants inoubliables à Paris. Pour moi, la France restera toujours liée a l’ÉCU et au cinéma. Grâce à vous, je sais désormais que je souhaite faire du cinéma mon métier.
