This is what one of the many film makers that attend our first festival had to say!
"I was utterly thrilled to be involved with Carmarthen Bay's first ever film festival. It was obvious from the whole set-up that the organisers had worked hard to bring not only experienced and new filmmakers together, but also the whole community. I believe that this festival has been a breath of fresh air for We
st Wales and a great opportunity for Welsh filmmakers to stand on the same platform as the rest of the UK's talent in showcasing their work. I sincerely hope that this festival will grow and grow to highlight national as well as international talent right on our doorstep here in Wales. Thank you so much for your support with both my short films!"

I've also been doing the infamous crab dance on the tube when you have to move from one small space to the other!
Whilst reading this months Sight and Sound, my alarm bells started to ring when I saw an editorial discussing film festivals. Basicaly the article said that film festivalsare no...

An emotional journey of one man who has been working tirelessly for the last 20 years trying to help alleviate homelessness in Cairns. A hair raising experience as we get into the lives of these street kids, hear their stories and unfold the bitter reality that lies beneath this beautiful paradise island. Where the streets have no name today tells a different story!
My goodness its cold here - I feel like I'm in the North Pole. I personally hate this weather, in fact mid-Wales was the coldest place in the UK at the weekend; -17 on Saturday night...
Anyway, what this means though is that those old cinemas with no air con are nice and warm and whilst I was in Glasgow on business at the weekend I had some free time to chill and watch a film in one of these types of cinemas. I had the choice between Unstoppable and Machete. You'd probably think that...

Not so if you are Adrien Brody, steeped in Oscar potential; and even if your film is WRECKED, som...

A homeless man encounters some from from his past
Venice kicks off tomorrow, however, I’m hearing things that the big festivals such as Cannes, Venice, Berlin and Toronto etc are being called the falling stars of the festival circuit and that the whole star-studdied red carpet routine is getting rather dull and boring. This is an interesting point, but not one that I fully agree with – based on my experience of last years Cannes. Although I didnt see many of the in-competition films as I was doing my research around the film market...
