The Golden Chough Grand Prize: Best Film of the Festival
This will be awarded to the film that best captures the spirit of the Festival.
Eligibility: All films entered into the Cornwall Film Festival: shorts and features. Jury: The Cornwall Film Festival team Prize: TBD & Laurel Jury Award: Best Short Film of the Festival This will be awarded to the best Cornish short film in the 2010 Festival Eligibility: All films in competition are eligible to win this Award regardless of genre. Jury: A select panel of UK media industry professionals Prize: £500 Jury Award: Best Student Short Film of the Festival This will be awarded to the best Cornish student short film in the 2010 Festival Eligibility: All films in student competition are eligible to win this award regardless of genre. Jury: A selected panel of film and media students Prize: £100 The Delabole Slate Film of the Festival Award The audience will vote for its favourite Cornish film from any of the main screenings. Eligibility: All films selected for competition or Cornish All Sorts are eligible to win this award regardless of length, genre or category. Jury: Festival Audience Prize: The Delabole Slate Award The Delabole Slate Best Student Film The audience will vote for its favourite Cornish student film from any of the student film screenings. Eligibility: All films selected for the student film competition or Student All Sorts are eligible to win this award regardless of length, genre or category. Jury: Festival Audience Prize: The Delabole Slate Award The ANOTHER COUNTRY International Short Film Award This will be awarded to the audience favourite international short. Eligibility: International short film selected from the Another Country touring programme. Jury: Another Country audiences Prize: £500 The YOUR COUNTRY Short Film Award This will be awarded to the best short film from the British Isles. Eligibility: Films from any country or region in the British Isles, including Cornwall, England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Isles of Scilly and the Channel Islands. Jury: Cornwall Film Festival representatives Prize: £500 The Best of Board Shorts Award A jury of independent judges will vote for the best overall surf film in competition. Eligibility: Films will be deemed eligible for competition and screening by a pre-selection panel. Jury: A select panel of surf industry representatives and filmmakers. Prize: £250 cash and a generous gift bag

We take pride in the thriving Cornish film industry, and a key aim of the Festival is showcasing films where at least one of the creative team (writer, director, producer) is resident in Cornwall.
We now also accept films that have a strong link to Cornwall or Cornish culture by non-resident filmmakers – e.g., a film that has been wholly or mostly shot in Cornwall. We accept films of all genres, including experimental/non-narrative. Films approximately 20 minutes long or under will be eligible for the Best Film of the Festival Jury Award.
All Cornish films are eligible for the Festival Favourite Award and the Delabole Slate Film of the Festival Awards.
Qualifiers for Cornish Shorts / Features · Films over 20 minutes (approx.) will not be eligible for the Jury Award · Either the writer, director or producer must be currently resident in Cornwall, or the film must demonstrate a strong link to Cornwall. · Films must have been completed since January 2009 These films will be eligible for the Best Student Film of the Festival Jury Award. We accept all genres.
Qualifiers for Cornish Student Films · Maximum length: 20 minutes (approx.) · The student writer, director, or producer must be currently resident in Cornwall. Writer, director, or producers who are Cornish residents studying at non-Cornish colleges/universities are also eligible. · Films must have been completed since January 2009 “THE EDGE” – Experimental/Non-narrative Films A new category for 2010. All experimental/non-narrative entries are eligible for the Golden Chough Grand Prize and the Delabole Slate Film of the Festival Awards.
Qualifiers for “The Edge”: · Maximum length: 20 minutes (approx.) · Films can originate from anywhere in the UK · Films must have been completed since January 2009 The Festival's ever-popular screening event that showcases unique and/or inspirational perspectives inspired by the surf film genre. Films in this category are eligible for prizes and awards, including the title of 'Best of Board Shorts'.
Qualifiers for Board Shorts: · Maximum length: 10 minutes (for competition) although longer films will be considered for special screenings · Films can originate from anywhere in the world ANOTHER COUNTRY International Short Film Competition The Another Country International Short Film Award showcases films of all genres made in urban and rural communities across the world.
Qualifiers for ANOTHER COUNTRY · Maximum length: 20 minutes (approx.) · Films can originate from anywhere in the world · Films must have been completed since January 2009 YOUR COUNTRY Short Film Competition This award welcomes films from across the UK, including Cornwall, England, Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Isles of Scilly and the Channel Islands.
Qualifiers for YOUR COUNTRY · Maximum length: 20 minutes (approx.) · Films can originate from anywhere in the UK · Films must have been completed since January 2009 The Screen Actions film festival is run by young people for young people. If you're aged 8-18 and you've made a short film, submit it to Screen Actions. We accept films of all genres.
Qualifiers for Screen Actions: · Maximum length: 15 minutes · The writer, director, or producer must be resident in Cornwall · Films must not include any swearing · Films must have been completed since January 2009

6pm Monday 26th July 2010 LATE DEADLINE: £35 Fee Cornwall Film Festival entry fees are required to help cover the administrative and technical costs incurred by processing submissions. Film submitters are entitled to free entry to the screening of their film at the Festival (worth at least £5).

The Festival promotes online submissions to reduce the use of paper.

Screen Actions entry forms will be available to download here soon.
Please note that you will need to submit both a standard DVD of your film + a QuickTime master as well as two jpeg still images from your film to the Festival office by the submission deadline with a cheque for the correct submission fee (if applicable; see deadlines and fees above).
